Josh Glawe, LCSW – Clinical Innovator. Compassionate Therapist. Partner in Change.
With over 20 years of clinical experience, Josh Glawe, LCSW brings a rare combination of deep empathy, clinical innovation, and experiential wisdom to his work with individuals, families, and groups. As the founder and executive director of a thriving private practice, Josh is known for offering highly individualized, evidence-based treatment that meets each client where they are—and helps guide them toward lasting growth.
Josh specializes in dual diagnosis treatment, trauma-informed care, and complex clinical presentations, often working with individuals who have not responded to traditional therapy. His experiential, outside-the-office sessions—which may include adventure-based activities like hiking or climbing—integrate therapeutic goals with real-world environments to unlock breakthroughs not easily reached in a conventional office setting.
He is particularly passionate about working with young adults navigating recovery and has developed targeted programs blending Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), CBT, and motivational interviewing to support lasting behavioral change. Whether addressing anxiety, OCD, addiction, or life transitions, Josh’s approach is hands-on, pragmatic, and emotionally attuned.
Josh is also an expert in substance use and process addictions, providing care not only to those in recovery but also to families seeking clarity, support, and direction. He is a nationally certified interventionist, skilled at helping families take action when a loved one is struggling. Josh believes recovery is not one-size-fits-all; he supports multiple pathways to healing and guides each client toward sustainable, self-defined success.
Clients and colleagues alike describe Josh as deeply empathetic, intuitive, and collaborative, with a talent for cutting through complexity to uncover the root of a problem. He’s known for accurate assessments and creative treatment planning, especially in clinically complicated or high-profile cases. He frequently provides expert consultation to schools, legal teams, and other mental health professionals, and is a sought-after speaker and trainer on topics including trauma, OCD, and dual diagnosis care.
Josh holds a Master of Social Work from New York University, a BSW from the University of Montana, and has completed advanced training through the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute for OCD, NASW Trauma Certificate Program, and the Yale Parenting Center. He is certified in Parent Management Training, trauma-focused CBT, and is a proud member of the International OCD Foundation and NASW.
Above all, Josh believes in the power of human connection. He understands that what makes therapy successful is not only the method, but the relationship—and he brings heart, integrity, and hope into every session.
When he’s not in the therapy room, Josh is likely outdoors—rock climbing, mountaineering, cycling, fishing, skateboarding, snowboarding, or paddleboarding—continuing to explore the intersection of mental wellness and experiential living.
